I began mulligan stew 6 or so months ago and just finished it...whew!!

This was my first jump into postmodernism, after three years of being an English major and exploring every age but this one, and I have to say that my experience was troubling, incredibly amusing and eye-opening, which is just as it should be. From the Joyean trope of long lists to the journal entries written by one of Lamont's characters, Halpin, I found myself so amused by the comedy of Sorrentino's prose.

Fans of Gilbert Sorrentino are in for a treat (think cupcakes) when they feast their eyes on Mulligan Stew. The talented author seems to pour his entire talent into this concoction of fictional delight.
