A wonderful compilation of historic houses and their interiors. Focuses on the lovely Swedish design and architecture.

This book is a visual history of one man's love of Swedish architecture and decorative arts and his drive to preserve the old crafts and old houses before they disappear under the avalanche of the pre-fab and cheaply made. Early on in the book he makes the point that "[w]e throw away our household possessions after a decade or so, as though they were trash, often because they are cheaply made of inferior materials.

Saw it in a used books store months after it never arrived. It was horrible.
